A 17 Year old North Carolina girl was shot dead on Saturday after being robbed in her car. A gang of black teenagers have been arrested in relation to the murder.
Veronica Baker of Raleigh, North Carolina was found dead in her car at around 8pm by a passer-by. The engine of Ms Baker’s car was still running and the door was wide open when she was discovered. On the 911 call, the passer-by who discovered Ms Baker stated, “She’s not breathing. I’ve tried to shake her,” and that there was “No response, nothing”.
Devin Cordell Jones, 17 was arrested on Tuesday night and charged with the murder of Ms Baker, a recent graduate from Garner High school, near Raleigh, North Carolina. Three other teenagers were also arrested, Keyshara Deans, 19, Tyreek Rogers, 18 and Neziyha Collins, 19 have all been charged with felony accessory for assisting Jones in his failed attempt to flee after the murder.
Deans was charged with driving Jones away after the horrific killing of Ms Baker. Rogers and Collins allegedly fled the state with the murder suspect during his attempt to avoid capture. The three teenagers have been held on bail ranging from $500,000 to $1 million in Wake County Detention Centre.
The father of Veronica, Jim Baker, told WRAL News that his daughter knew Jones and believed that was why she would have let him into her car. Mr Baker said that he was grateful that the police had made the arrests, adding that his daughter “didn’t deserve to get shot and killed and left in a parking lot.”
He said, “She was my baby. She was my baby who had a future. She had such big, big plans for her future,” Laura Baker, Veronica’s mother added. “My daughter would never hurt anybody. She didn’t have a fighting chance in this. She was a good girl.”
A schoolmate of Ms Baker’s spoke exclusively to National File and said that she was a “really nice person who would never harm anyone.” He added that what happened to her was “a senseless act of violence,” and he was surprised at the lack of mainstream media coverage regarding her case.
At the time of writing this article, no national mainstream news outlets have covered the story. Despite having local affiliates cover the story, both NBC and ABC have no such article on their national websites.
It seems that the senseless and callous murder of Veronica Baker, a white 17 Year old high school graduate murdered at the hands of a gang of black teenagers, isn’t news worthy enough for the main stream media. Or maybe it just doesn’t fit well with their left-wing narrative. A narrative that is so determined to paint black people as the perpetual victims of this world.
Had this have been a Black criminal, killed at the hands of the police then this would have been front page news, with constant round the clock television coverage and people rioting in the streets around the world for months, but alas it seems, at least to the left-wing main stream media, that black lives really are the only lives that matter.
